U4GM Where the Anvil Splitter Really Works Best

Postprzez William » 15 kwi 2026, o 09:06

The Anvil Splitter is a strong pick for aggressive close-range play, hitting hard in tight fights and punishing peeks, but it gives up the standard Anvil's safer long-range consistency.

Anyone thinking about the Anvil Splitter should probably ignore the hype for a minute and look at what it actually does in a fight. It's not some magic attachment that fixes every weakness the weapon has. It changes the whole identity of the gun. If you're the kind of player who likes tight pushes, messy duels, and forcing fights at awkward distances, it can feel brilliant. I've seen plenty of players talking loadouts, trading tips, and even checking places like U4GM when they're sorting out gear plans, and the Splitter always comes up for one reason: at close range, it hits way harder than people expect.

What the attachment really changes

Once it's equipped, the Anvil stops behaving like a clean, single-shot hand cannon. Every trigger pull breaks into four fragments, and that's the whole story right there. You gain room for error up close, but you lose that reliable point-and-click feel the base version is known for. If all four pieces land on target, the damage is nasty. You can melt someone before they realise they've overcommitted a peek. But it's not free damage. You still need to center your shot well. A lot of players hear “spread” and start treating it like a panic weapon, then wonder why they lose trades they should've won.

Where it feels strongest

The Splitter is at its best in close to mid-range scraps, especially around corners, doorways, and cramped interior routes. That's where the extra fragments do real work. If somebody keeps shoulder-peeking the same angle, you can punish that habit fast. It's also excellent for cleaning up weak targets who are trying to slide away with a sliver of health. One trick that genuinely matters is crouching while aiming down sights. You'll notice the spread tighten almost straight away, and that can swing a duel. There's also a fun side benefit against airborne ARC enemies. The knockback can be absurd. Hit them at the right moment and they'll get shoved into nearby cover or a wall, which often finishes the job for you.

Why it can feel awkward

Step outside its comfort zone, though, and the flaws show up quickly. At longer ranges, the fragment spread becomes a problem instead of a benefit. You start dropping pellets, your damage falls off, and the standard Anvil suddenly looks like the smarter choice. That's why the Splitter can feel clunky in open areas. It asks for commitment. You have to close space, hold sharper angles, and stay disciplined with crosshair placement. It won't bail you out if your aim is lazy. It also doesn't work like a true shotgun, so rushing in without a plan is a good way to get deleted by someone using a steadier weapon.

Who should actually use it

If your style is aggressive, direct, and a little reckless in the best way, the Splitter is worth keeping around. Build around accuracy where you can, play into short sightlines, and make enemies fight on your terms. That's when it starts making sense. Players who prefer safer spacing or dependable long-range shots probably won't stick with it for long, and honestly, that's fine. This attachment is for people who want pressure, not balance. If you're still testing whether that kind of setup suits you, browsing different builds and even looking at options tied to ARC Raiders Accounts can give you a better idea of how other players are approaching the weapon in real matches.
